About MuscleGuru.in
India's evidence-based fitness education and calculator platform.
Our Mission
MuscleGuru.in exists to give the Indian fitness community access to honest, evidence-based information — free from the exaggerated claims, bro-science myths, and supplement marketing that dominates much of the fitness content available online.
India's fitness culture is growing rapidly. Millions of people are joining gyms, following workout videos, and attempting to improve their health for the first time. Yet much of the information they encounter is inaccurate, misleading, or directly copied from Western sources without any adaptation for Indian dietary habits, body composition differences, or cultural context.
We believe everyone deserves access to the same quality of information that elite athletes and their coaches use — grounded in peer-reviewed research, clearly explained, and practically applicable.
What We Do
MuscleGuru.in provides two core categories of content:
- Free Fitness Calculators: Interactive tools for BMI, TDEE, protein targets, macros, body fat, water intake, one-rep max, calorie deficit, lean body mass, and FFMI — all using validated scientific formulas with full explanations of the methodology behind each result.
- Evidence-Based Guides: In-depth articles on nutrition, supplementation, training, and fat loss — written to the same standard as peer-reviewed health publications, with real citations from PubMed, NIH, and major sports science journals.
Our Editorial Standards
Every piece of content published on MuscleGuru.in must meet the following standards:
- Claims are supported by peer-reviewed research, not anecdote or manufacturer claims
- Sources are cited transparently and linked where possible
- Language is cautious and accurate: "research suggests" rather than "proven to"
- Limitations and exceptions are acknowledged honestly
- Medical disclaimers are present on all health-related content
- Content is reviewed against ICMR, WHO, and international sports nutrition guidelines
What We Will Never Do
- Make false claims or guarantee specific results
- Fabricate research citations or invent statistics
- Promote dangerous supplements, steroids, or extreme diet practices
- Publish paid-for content disguised as editorial recommendations
- Use fear, shame, or unrealistic body image to drive engagement
Indian Context
We specifically tailor our content for the Indian audience — considering vegetarian and vegan protein sources, the realities of Indian food culture, the physiological differences in body composition documented in South Asian populations, climate considerations (India's heat significantly affects hydration needs), and the practical constraints of Indian gym culture and equipment availability.
